As well as delivering exceptional breakdown insurance cover the AA and
The AA Motoring Trust also provide expert knowledge and advice on transport
issues, which are respected by AA members, the public, safety experts
and the Government. There are various options available when selecting
the most suitable breakdown policy:
OPTION
1 - ROADSIDE
Help when you have broken down more than ¼ mile from your home.
If your car can't be fixed by the roadside, we'll take you and your car
to the nearest garage or an alternative local destination, provided this
is no further.
OPTION
2 - ROADSIDE + RELAY
As well as Roadside cover, you get Relay, which means we will transport
you, your car and up to seven passengers to your home or any other single
UK mainland destination, if we can't arrange a prompt local repair.
OPTION
3 - ROADSIDE + RELAY + HOME START
As well as Roadside and Relay, you get Home Start, which means help when
you have broken down at home or within ¼ mile of it. If the AA
can't arrange a prompt repair, they will take you and your car to the
nearest garage or another local destination, provided this is no further.
OPTION
4 - ROADSIDE + RELAY + HOME START + RELAY PLUS
As well as Roadside, Relay and Home Start, you get Relay Plus, which extends
Relay to provide either a replacement car (up to 48 hours), or overnight
accommodation or onward travel arrangements if a local repair is not possible.
VEHICLE
BASED - ROADSIDE
Entitles ANY driver of the registered vehicle to roadside service. With
this type of cover the vehicle is covered for the breakdown unlike personal
cover where the member is covered regardless of vehicle as long as they
are in the vehicle when the breakdown occurs.
Breakdown Repair Cover
Helps cover costs for replacement parts and garage labour up to £500
(including VAT; less £25 excess) following a breakdown attended
by the AA. Garage labour alone can cost over £80 per hour. You can
make five claims per year and it costs just £65. It can be added
to your membership once you've chosen your Option above.
