AA unveils new 'value' caravan insurance product - February 2009 |
|
This regularly updated section of the HomeApproved web site will cover the latest trends, research, opinion and developments in the UK car insurance sector. AA
unveils new 'value' caravan insurance product Karen Jakes, head of AA Caravan Insurance, says: "With the poor exchange rate, high price of fuel and the generally higher cost of living we believe many families are considering caravan destinations such as the Cotswolds or the Cairngorms this year, rather than say Carcassonne. "The AA’s economy and select policies include benefits such as legal expenses and year-round European cover but many owners won’t be interested in those – however it does include up to 30 days cover outside the UK just in case the family do decide to hop over the channel for a week or so." AA Caravan Essentials still includes cover for up to £2m public liability, accidental damage and theft. Standard minimum excess is £150 (instead of £100 on standard cover); while extras such as legal expenses or family cover can be added for an additional premium. Customers who do change their caravan to one with a value higher than £10,000 or decide to take an extended European tour, can easily upgrade their policy at any time to Standard or Select. "The AA’s range of caravan cover enables owners to adapt the cover they need to suit their own caravanning ambitions," Ms Jakes adds. ENDS Further
