A standard cherished car insurance policy is designed for owners of vehicles aged over 10 years and driven for no more than 5,000-7,500 miles per annum.

Laid-Up Cover
If you never use your cherished car on the roads then laid up cover would be the most appropriate policy. The main stipulation of this type of insurance is that the vehicle must not be used on the road under its own power.

Your policy will provide protection for accidental damage and fire and theft cover when the car is kept in a locked private garage on your private property or any other address specifically agreed by the insurer. If you transport your car to and from exhibitions on a transporter or trailer your laid-up policy will also cover for this.
